Description

The project involves the connection between the bypass road of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the motorway GC.2 in the stretch of Tamaraceite-Tenoya-Arucas-Costa.

The 113 m high Barranco de Tenoya viaduct is one of the highest viaducts on piers of Spain.  The deck is 530 m long and has three central spans of 128 m, two lateral spans of 73 m and a width of 27 m. The piers reach a height of 115 m.

ULMA solution

For the construction of the bridge, the balanced cantilever method was used, growing from the piers towards the center of the span.

The variable section of piers 2 and 3 was built with the ATR system which had to be adapted to the changing shape at each new pouring stage.

The constant section piers 1 and 4 were built with Climbing System 2000. And high load capacity G Heavy Duty Bracket suited the construction of the pier segments.
