ULMA Strengthens its Environmental Commitment with FSC and PEFC Certifications

Feb 17, 2020
By obtaining the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certifications over the past two years, ULMA is doing its part to guarantee responsible forest management practices, thus protecting biodiversity and numerous ecosystems.

ULMA’s FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Certifications demonstrate that our wood products are fully traceable to sustainable sources. ULMA’s PEFC certification applies to our VM-20 Beams and three-layer plywood panels, while the FSC certification applies to our birch phenolic plywood panels.

Both certifications represent another step toward fulfilling ULMA’s commitment to use sustainably sourced wood and other forest products, testament to the value we place on guaranteeing congruity between our economic activity and social wellbeing, in an environmentally friendly manner.

Moreover, with these certifications, ULMA also responds to the needs of our clients who are increasingly concerned with the use of products with PEFC or FSC Chain of Custody Certification, as well as sustainable building methods such as the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
