Job Description

The primary objective of the Technical Sales person is to sell and promote the safe and efficient use of ULMA products. This position sells Forming, Shoring (falsework) products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the product/services to their needs resulting in revenue that meets or exceeds annual targets.

Duties and responsabilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business development, revenue & growth within set territory and/or customer base
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of ULMA Products & Services
  • Working with a wide variety of individuals at levels ranging from corporate presidents to construction site managers and workers
  • Working with application drawings to develop material lists and schedule
  • Working in a high pressure, constantly changing environment
  • Tracking rapidly changing competition & market forces
  • Meeting established sales goals and annual targets
  • Annual & monthly forecasting
  • Working with site services & engineering constantly to ensure project execution
  • Maintaining an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and construction practices

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, plus 7 -10 years of construction industry sales experience, preferably in forming, shoring and scaffolding. Or;
  • 3 year technical degree (Business, Marketing, Civil or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Outgoing personality, interest in being a team player, and a desire to sell
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
  • Experience with heavy civil projects a plus
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Ability to manage difficult client/customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, respond to requests for service and assistance and meet commitments
